I don't get any in my GMail inbox, but my spam filter at work sure picks up on a ton of Russian spam daily... and nobody here speaks Russian... I've tried having the Exchange server & spam filter accept only English etc and it still gets in. Well DNS blacklist part catches most of it, but I like to customize my keyword filters and it's kinda hard to do that when I can't make sense of what I'm looking at. At least my bayesian filter doesn't care what language it's in. Still... Russia, please, these 1000's of spam your sending me daily are never going to get you anywhere or make anyone any money, nobody can read it... or at least if I had a way of contacting the spammers that's what I'd like to say.

Here's someone who drove to Google's office to let them know his feelings about his lack of IMAP access. He drafted a letter (in Google Docs), printed & posted it to their doors. http://www.nickstarr.com/2007/10/26/give-me-gmail-imap/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nickstarr/sets/72157602721981419/ He really wants his IMAP, and I think I understand now.

I've been trying to think of any reason why I need IMAP. I know what it is and how to use it, but I don't really have any desire to use Outlook or Thunderbird for my email and I definitely don't have any desire to hear my mobile phone's new message tone any more often than I already do. I dunno, maybe it's just because I don't have an iPhone... Is that it, is it mainly the iPhone people that are wanting IMAP access?
